Experiential Traveling is the brainchild of your tour hosts Rtn. Bhanu & Rtn. Divya, who has always enjoyed hosting and giving a personalized touch to every participant in Rotary Youth Exchange activities since 2012. They have always felt that people who come to visit India, do not get the wholistic experience and personalized touch, that’s needed to enjoy and experience India and its diversity.
This led to the launch of Experiential Travelling. A venture aimed at making travel personalized, and fun-filled with experiences to understand the real soul of INDIA.
You shall plan to arrive on the morning of 10th February 2024 and the port of arrival is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad. You will be received by your host Bhanu or Divya. Your departure should be planned for 24th February 2024 from Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.
The tour cost includes your stay in decent hotels on twin sharing basis, entry tickets to all the places of visit, as mentioned in the itinerary. It covers all internal travel cost and transfers including train travel (AC II Category), along with all the meals for tour days. All local transport will be sit in coach basis.
During the tour your stay will be in Hotels of category 4 start or above on twin sharing basis. We will try our best to pick comfortable hotels for you that fit best in our tour plan. A single room occupancy will attract some extra fee. We want to make sure, this tour brings lot of value for money, with comfortable stay and enjoyment.
We understand that most of our friends on this tour may not be habitual to the hot and spicy food of India or may have some dietary restriction, and we keep this in mind when we plan your meals. All your meals are included and you will surely get to taste different variety and flavors of India cuisines from Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Covid 19 has impacted our lives. We will take required precautionary measures to keep our tour safe and healthy. Our vehicles will be equipped with masks and sanitizers , and will be sanitized and disinfected on a regular basis and a doctor on call will always be there, in case we need any assistance.
Ahmedabad has emerged as an important economic and industrial hub in India. It is the second-largest producer of cotton in India, due to which it was known as the ‘Manchester of India’ along with Kanpur. More than 600 year old Walled City of Ahmedabad founded by Ahmed Shah has been declared India’s first World Heritage City, recognising heritage value of the walled city’s unique heritage.
‘Akshardham’ literally means the divine abode of God. It is an eternal place for one to offer devotion and experience everlasting peace. Swaminarayan Akshardham at Gandhinagar is a mandir – a Hindu house of worship, a dwelling place for God, and a spiritual and cultural campus dedicated to devotion, education and unification. The mandir is a humble tribute to Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781- 1830) and the avatars, devas and sages of Hinduism.
Gandhiji selected a place on the bank of the river Sabarmati very close to the Saint Dadheechi’s temple as well as from Jail and a crematorium. Gandhi used to remark, “This is the right place for our activities to carry on the search for Truth and develop Fearlessness for on one side are the iron bolts of the foreigners and on the other, thunderbolts of mother nature.” After building a few essential structures, activities of the Ashram commenced in 1917.
Bagore-ki-Haveli is a haveli in Udaipur in Rajasthan state in India. It is right on the waterfront of Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat. Amar Chand Badwa, the Prime Minister of Mewar, built it in the eighteenth century. The Haveli has a museum and also venue for folk dance show Dharohar. Near Bagore ki Haveli is Jagdish Temple, a large Hindu temple, just outside the royal palace. It has been in continuous worship since 1651.
Udaipur, formerly the capital of the Mewar Kingdom, is a city in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. Founded by Maharana Udai Singh II in 1559, it’s set around a series of artificial lakes and is known for its lavish royal residences. It was founded in 1559 by Udai Singh II of the Sisodia clan of Rajput. City Palace, overlooking Lake Pichola, is a monumental complex of 11 palaces, courtyards and gardens, famed for its intricate peacock mosaics.
Jaipur is the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan and is also known as the Pink City, due to the dominant colour scheme of its buildings. Jaipur was founded in 1727 by the Kachhwaha Rajput ruler Jai Singh the ruler of Amer, after whom the city is named. It was one of the earliest planned cities of modern India. During the British Colonial period, the city served as the capital of Jaipur State. After independence in 1947, Jaipur was made the capital of the newly formed state of Rajasthan.
Amer Fort or Amber Fort is a fort located in Amer, Rajasthan, India. Amer is a town with an area of 4 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi) located 11 kilometres from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. The town of Amer and the Amber Fort were originally built by Raja Man Singh and additions were, later, made by Sawai Jai Singh. Amer Fort is known for its artistic style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake,which is the main source of water for the Amer Palace.
Polo is a horseback ball game, a traditional field sport and one of the world’s oldest known team sports. The game is played by two opposing teams with the objective of scoring using a long-handled wooden mallet to hit a small hard ball through the opposing team’s goal. On this day we will also introduce you to block printing which is an ancient craft form of Rajasthan that is being practiced since time immemorial. Natural colors are used in Block Printing and its hugely practiced even till date.
Chand Baori at Abhaneri Village in Rajasthan is the most photogenic step well of India. When you stand next to this 13 story deep step well with symmetric triangular steps leading to the water at the bottom, you cannot but be mesmerized. You, of course, understand that in the desert of Rajasthan, it is a practical water management solution. It also serves as a natural cooler in summer months. But, what inspired the people of those days to build it so beautifully.
Agra is a city on the banks of the Yamuna river in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Agra is the fourth-most populous city in Uttar Pradesh and twenty-third most populous city in India. Agra’s notable historical period began during Sikandar Lodi’s reign, but the golden age of the city began with the Mughals. Agra was the foremost city of the Indian subcontinent and the capital of the Mughal Empire under Mughal emperors Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan. Under Mughal rule,
New Delhi is the capital of India and seat of all three branches of the government of India, hosting the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, and the Supreme Court of India. Old Delhi had served as the political and financial center of several empires of ancient India and the Delhi Sultanate, most notably of the Mughal Empire from 1649 to 1857. During the early 1900s, British administration to shifted the capital of the British Indian Empire, from Calcutta on the east coast, to Delhi.
Rishikesh, also spelt as Hrishikesh, is located in the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India, it is known as the “Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas”. It is known as the pilgrimage town and regarded as one of the holiest places for Hindus. Hindu sages and saints have visited Rishikesh since ancient times to meditate in search of higher knowledge. The Ganges, one of the most sacred rivers to Hindus, flows through Rishikesh.
Byasi is a small village and its located in between Rishikesh Uttarakhand – located between Shivpuri and Byasi villages, about 260 kms from Delhi and 20 – 30 kms upstream from Rishikesh on the road to Deoprayag. Byusi is perfect place for White Water Rafting, one can have looks of hills with roaring sound of famous rafting rapid The Danies Dip, Three Blind Mice, Roller Coaster, Golf Course, Club house, Initiation, Double Trouble, Hilton and Terminator.
This day marks the last day of the trip as we return to New Delhi from Rishkesh. The evening will be spend going down the memories of last 13 days and how was the trip and exchanging pleasantries and strengthening the friendship of his Incredible India group. We will spend the evening celebrating Rotary Fellowship that brought us all together.
